Barrie’s lockdown project
Gold rocker cradle – made in 1850s style for washing the gold bearing gravels to extract the gold.
Materials – petrified wood from Durras Mountain, rhodonite from Copeton Dam, (Inverell), bronze shim, and metal fly screen.
Kibble bucket – used in early mining to lift ore to the surface – Chinchilla wood
Wheel barrow – based on 1850s style of barrows on the goldfields
Knife – N. Z. jade with brass fittings
Oyster Knife – N.Z. jade and aluminium
Comb – N.Z jade
Dice – Rhodonite from Copeton Dam, Inverell, with brass fittings.
